We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Senior Communications Business Partner to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the executive communications and internal communications strategy to inform and engage stakeholders.
The Senior Communications Business Partner focuses on key areas that support profitable growth and transformation at Munich Re and the HSB business unit including executive communications, strategic content, change communications, and other critical business projects requiring internal and executive communication support. The role will contribute to the integrated communications and marketing team by building the internal and executive communications annual plan and regularly reporting progress and results to key stakeholders.
- The role provides executive and internal communications counsel and support to key executives -- with a focus on the CEO of HSB -- to ensure effective thought leadership and positioning.
- This role is responsible for the design and implementation of change communications campaigns, platforms, townhalls, and deliverables that embed and exemplify the company’s Employee Value Proposition.
- The position plays a senior role by collaborating across the Global Com and the business unit teams to create and publish strategic content across multiple channels.
In this position you will:
- Collaborate with Global Com teams to produce, coordinate, and publish content that delivers strategic messages across multiple channels, focusing on business needs, audience relevance, timeliness, efficiency, and high quality.
- Responsible for translating business objectives into executive and internal strategies and tactics, as captured in the integrated business support plan and executed in support of HSB.
- Effectively work within project management processes and systems to ensure efficient cross-functional collaboration.
- Write and develop change communications material, executive speeches, and talking points.
- Empower and support the business areas to communicate effectively, and where appropriate independently, about their internal programs, initiatives, and developments within the context of the company’s strategy.
- Design and steer internal events that focus on engaging employees, positioning leaders, meeting business needs, and enabling successful change.
- Regularly update, maintain, and refresh HSB’s intranet presence.
- Ensure that all communication programs, promotions, platforms, and activities are tracked and measured to determine their ROI and success. Make strategic, data-driven recommendations to enhance effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Communications or equivalent experience; masters degree preferred
- 10+ years providing communications counsel to leadership; experience managing teams or staff preferred
- 10+ years developing and leading internal communications and employee motivation programs
- 10+ years of relevant experience, ideally in the insurance industry/financial industry
- Experience delivering and measuring communications programs across multiple platforms and audiences
- Strategic thinking and planning skills and demonstrated ability to offer practical, business-focused solutions
- Strong writing and verbal communications skills; proficient at PowerPoint and other presentation software
- Highly organized with attention to detail and efficient project management
- High level of experience in prioritization, and communicating with stakeholders to enable self-service
- A team player with excellent interpersonal and diplomacy skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
- Strong working knowledge of current and emerging communications tools, practices, and technologies
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment
