The Opportunity
The E&S Business Solutions Manager will collaborate across our E&S business units (“E&S LT”) and functional units which support E&S as a strategic lead who funnels and prioritizes key initiatives to help execute on top priorities. The successful candidate will also act as a key delivery resource where appropriate. This role will serve as a thought partner, strategic project owner, and communications partner to E&S LT. This role can be a 24-month rotation or a more permanent position, with the broader experience and exposure providing future opportunities across MRSI.
Major responsibilities include:
Partner closely with the Head of E&S in developing, communicating, executing, and maintaining the MRSI E&S Strategic Plan year-over-year by reviewing and establishing strategic priorities and converting them to quantitative and actionable plans.
Facilitate the planning process by setting achievement standards, resource planning, collecting and analyzing data, and mapping out plans that ensures execution on key initiatives and priorities.
Research current market trends and compile data to influence the E&S strategy.
Develop and recommend viable scenarios for mitigating any potential risk.
Partner with the E&S Leadership Team and Engagement Manager on new and refresh product needs and priorities and facilitate coordination to link back to E&S strategic goals.
Identify areas of simplification and standardization across E&S that will help enable consistency, efficiency and best practices deployment, e.g., implementation of audit best practices across E&S
Partner with the E&S Head and Leadership Team to drive organization and execution discipline into management of the team through exceptional visibility, communication and administration.
Partner with E&S Leadership Team to enable high functioning and engaging teams.
Prioritize, drive, coordinate and communicate actions, meeting notes, accomplishments, and follow-ups to and with various organizational stakeholders to ensure a common understanding across the organization.
Proactively determine a course of action and identify possible solutions when there is a concern that could develop into a problem.
Use internal data and problem-solving skills to guide goal setting and measuring progress made.
Qualifications:
7+ years of relevant professional experience (insurance underwriting and/or strategic consulting)
A proven track record of supporting initiatives, delivering results, and succeeding in a high-growth, high-velocity environment.
A passion for working with leadership and in a cross-functional environment with a demonstrated ability to work across the organization to handle expectations and drive alignment.
Ability to be impartial and demonstrate sound, collaborative, and analytical decision-making while acting as a strategic partner to the E&S LT
Comfortable with fast pace, team collaboration, and independent decision making.
Excellent PowerPoint skills, strong excel skills a plus – ability to tell a story with data and presentation tools.
Ability to break down a problem into the most critical parts, define assumptions, facilitate good decision making, and influence stakeholders.
Ability to connect the dots between many pieces of information to understand the full problem and explain it simply.
Ability to facilitate conversations and decision-making processes to drive alignment across the leadership team and the broader company.
Impeccable organizational skills, while also being an effective storyteller to bring people along the journey.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, strategy, risk management or related field; MBA or similar graduate degree is a plus.
The Company is open to considering candidates in Philadelphia, PA; Chicago, IL, Atlanta, GA; Princeton, NJ or New York, NY. The salary range posted below applies to the Company’s NYC location.
The base salary range anticipated for this position is $150,300 - 220,400 plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
The salary estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for candidates hired in this position in NYC. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
