The Manager, Financial Analysis and Projects provides functional expertise over financial analysis and supports Corporate Finance on strategic projects. This individual will also provide functional expertise over the reporting under US GAAP and IFRS bases of accounting, implementation of new IFRS standards, assist with the implementation of new or changes to accounting standards under a variety of accounting bases, and support the external audit process including the creation of the audited financial statements. In addition, this individual will contribute to the development of accounting strategy and ensure the integrity of accounting records are accurate and in compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles. This position will supervise one employee.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting or Finance is required or equivalent work experience.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of accounting / financial reporting experience that aligns with the responsibilities of this position.
- 3+ years of experience in the Insurance Industry Preferred
- 3+ years of managerial, supervisory and / or demonstrated leadership experience
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS and statutory accounting and reporting principles with the ability to research accounting issues and clearly articulate possible impacts/solutions.
- Strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to understand and use financial reports as a management tool.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills. Prior experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI and other tools to generate reports, presentations, and export/import data from other systems.
- Strong critical thinking, ability to handle complexity and issues.
- Superior organizational, planning, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Curious, self-starter who takes initiative, meets deadlines, works effectively in a team environment and roots out opportunities for improvement.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use good judgment with sensitive issues.
