In the division Reinsurance Controlling (RIC), the responsibilities of controlling and management reporting are bundled together to ensure a uniform controlling process. RIC advises the Reinsurance Committee (RC), RI-CEO and the RI-CFO in respect of the current economics of the Reinsurance Segment and proper allocation of resources.
The Global IT, Expense & Staff Controlling department acts as the Global Process Owner for expenses and is responsible for budgeting and cost allocation processes. Within the department. the Investment & Business Case Controlling section is in charge to assess and monitor all investments and business cases which are in scope of the investments guidelines of the reinsurance segment. Besides, the section will be in charge of managing and facilitating the reinsurance committees ‘IT Investment Board (ITIB)’. Overall, the section will be in charge to establish a consistent return on investment view incl. all related processes and committees for all investments of the reinsurance group that are not managed by MEAG.
You will have an impact on decisions taken at senior executive and top management level for all businesses in the reinsurance segment. You will influence the future success of RIC as a business partner.
YOUR JOB
- Analysing and assessing business cases and investments (IT and other) from various economic perspectives (IFRS and VBM and Cash Flow view, management and legal view, financial funding etc.)
- Preparing controlling recommendations to the Reinsurance Committee in close cooperation with neighbouring finance functions, the reinsurance CFO and IT to address issues in context of economic, risk and accounting perspectives
- Prepare the financial planning and monitoring processes for the ITIB in close cooperation with other sections in the department
- Establish and continuously develop an approach to evaluate and monitor business cases
- Develop and prepare senior management presentations and relevant decision proposals
- Support in developing analysis and visualization that help business and senior executives in data-driven decision making
- Support with the automation and digitalisation of systems, tools, interfaces and processes to further boost the efficiency
YOUR PROFILE
- University degree in an economics discipline or information technologies
- Several years of experience in finance and/or IT
- Sound knowledge of methodologies and metrics of Investment and Project Controlling
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills
- A passion for data, knowledge of analytical programming (SQL, R, Python, etc.) and visualization / business intelligence tools (PowerBI, etc.) is a plus
- Experience in IT project management as a plus
- Strong presentation and communication skills
