You will join our team as an Actuarial Data Analyst Intern, where you’ll become part of Munich Re’s Life and Health Southeast Asia Unit in Singapore, supporting the SEA Life Commercial team.
You will be using Python, SQL and PowerBI to transform, process, and analyse client bordereaux data. You will ensure data integrity through thorough quality checks and cleaning, and manage data storage and retrieval for optimal accessibility. Your work will result in comprehensive reports and insights that drive organizational decision-making. You will be contributing to the treaty monitoring project (KTM), focusing on streamlining the process of tracking the treaty performance.
This internship presents an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data analysis, data visualization, and data management within the insurance industry.
Your role:
Automate data-driven processes, develop algorithms for data cleaning, and prepare thorough documentation for the work performed to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Manage and optimize data storage and retrieval using SQL Server, ensuring efficient and secure handling of client and portfolio data for seamless integration and analysis
Create and maintain dashboards using tools like Excel, SQL, Python, and PowerBI to visualize, monitor and analyse client data, providing insights to aid in decision-making for the business
Liaise with local offices, resolve issues, and document processes, ensuring accurate interpretation and implementation
Support the team with ad-hoc tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to problem-solving
Your profile:
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or Business Analytics, with a strong foundation in data analysis.
Proficient in Excel, SQL, and data analysis automation, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience or knowledge in Life Insurance principles and products is advantageous.
Skilled in data visualization tools, particularly Power BI, for creating compelling reports
Detail-oriented with a proactive approach, committed to continuous learning, and possessing a positive attitude.
